Privacy Policy

How JobWeb collects, uses, and protects information across the site, the JobWeb job board, and Fitcheck features.

This Privacy Policy explains how JobWeb.io (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you access or use JobWeb, located at https://jobweb.io, including the JobWeb job board, Fitcheck, related account features, and related websites, applications, products, and services (collectively, the “Service”). Fitcheck is part of JobWeb and is covered by this Privacy Policy.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that we collect and use information as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, information from connected accounts you authorize, and information from public or third-party job sources.

1.1 Account and Sign-In Information

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

  • Name.
  • Email address.
  • Sign-in provider and provider account identifiers.
  • Basic profile information made available by your sign-in provider, such as display name, profile image, or locale.
  • Account settings.
  • Onboarding choices and saved preferences.
  • Communications with us.

1.2 Fitcheck Preferences and Activity

When you use Fitcheck or related job-search features, we may collect:

  • Preferred titles, roles, industries, companies, and locations.
  • Remote, hybrid, or onsite preferences.
  • Compensation preferences.
  • Included, preferred, or excluded criteria you submit through the Service.
  • Saved jobs, hidden jobs, dismissed jobs, applied jobs, notes, feedback, and application-tracker entries.
  • Job-scoring results, recommendations, classifications, matches, and related outputs.

1.3 Connected Mailbox Information

If you connect a supported email account, such as Gmail or a Microsoft consumer mailbox, we may collect and process information from that account based on the permissions you grant.

This may include:

  • Mailbox account identifiers and connection status.
  • Authorization data needed to maintain or revoke the connection.
  • Message metadata such as sender, subject, date, labels, and message identifiers.
  • Message content, including message bodies and links, where permitted by the connection.
  • Job-related information identified in matched messages, such as employer names, job titles, job descriptions, compensation details, locations, and application links.

We use connected mailbox information to provide features such as approved-source message processing, job detection, extraction, organization, deduplication, scoring, alerts, and summaries.

You may revoke connected mailbox access through your JobWeb account settings, the third-party provider’s settings, or other available controls. Revoking access may limit or disable some Service features.

1.4 Job, Employer, and Public Source Information

The Service may collect, receive, or derive information from public websites, employer career pages, applicant tracking systems, job boards, company websites, third-party data providers, and other publicly or commercially available sources.

This may include:

  • Job titles.
  • Job descriptions.
  • Employer names.
  • Company information.
  • Career page URLs.
  • Application links.
  • Applicant tracking system information.
  • Locations.
  • Compensation ranges.
  • Employment types.
  • Department or team information.
  • Job posting dates.
  • Public company logos, favicons, or brand identifiers.

1.5 Billing and Subscription Information

If you purchase a paid plan or subscription, payment information is processed by our payment processor.

We may receive and store limited billing-related information needed to operate the Service, such as:

  • Billing or account email.
  • Plan or subscription status.
  • Transaction, checkout, customer, or subscription identifiers.
  • Payment and billing history records.

1.6 Support and Communications

If you contact us, open a support ticket, reply to support, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect:

  • The content of your communications.
  • Contact information.
  • Support attachments or files you submit.
  • Related support metadata reasonably needed to provide support.

1.7 Usage, Device, and Technical Information

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:

  • Provide the public job board and related browsing features.
  • Provide Fitcheck and related job-scoring and recommendation features.
  • Process connected-mailbox content you authorize us to access.
  • Detect, extract, classify, organize, score, rank, and present job opportunities.
  • Save preferences, tracker data, notes, and settings.
  • Send job alerts, digests, notifications, billing messages, support messages, and administrative communications.
  • Display job listings and employer information.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Provide customer support.
  • Monitor performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Debug errors and troubleshoot issues.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, scraping, unauthorized access, security incidents, and policy violations.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.
  • Protect the rights, safety, and security of JobWeb, users, employers, and third parties.

3. Automated Processing

The Service uses automated tools and workflows to help identify, extract, organize, deduplicate, classify, score, rank, summarize, and present job-related information.

This automated processing may use information such as:

  • Job listings and job descriptions.
  • Employer and company information.
  • User preferences and configuration.
  • Connected-mailbox content you authorize us to process.
  • Usage signals and feedback.

We may use third-party infrastructure, analytics, communications, storage, or processing providers to operate these features on our behalf.

We may use aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise privacy-protective information to improve the Service, including recommendation quality, extraction quality, security, reliability, and product functionality.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following circumstances.

4.1 Service Providers

We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Service, including providers of:

  • Cloud hosting.
  • Databases and infrastructure.
  • Authentication.
  • Email delivery.
  • Payment processing.
  • Analytics.
  • Logging and monitoring.
  • Customer support.
  • Security.

These providers may access information only as needed to perform services for us.

4.2 Connected Account Providers

If you connect a third-party account, we may exchange information with that provider as necessary to authenticate, authorize, maintain, or revoke the connection.

4.3 Employers, Recruiters, and Application Sites

If you click an application link, visit an employer site, or otherwise interact with an external employer, recruiter, job board, or applicant tracking system, information may be provided directly by you to that third party.

We do not control how third parties collect, use, or disclose information once you leave the Service or interact with their systems.

4.4 Business Transfers

We may disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction.

4.5 Legal, Safety, and Compliance

We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to:

  • Comply with law, legal process, court orders, subpoenas, or government requests.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements.
  • Detect, investigate, or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or technical issues.
  • Protect the rights, property, safety, or security of JobWeb, users, employers, or others.

4.6 Aggregated or De-Identified Information

We may share aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in.
  • Remember preferences.
  • Improve site functionality.
  • Measure usage and performance.
  • Understand how users interact with the Service.
  • Detect abuse and security issues.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some Service functionality.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, operate our business, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the feature used, legal requirements, account settings, and operational needs.

For example:

  • Account and preference information may be retained while your account is active.
  • Connected-mailbox and recommendation data may be retained as needed to provide related features, unless deleted earlier or access is revoked.
  • Support records and attachments may be retained as needed to provide support, maintain records, and protect the Service.
  • Logs and security records may be retained for operational, security, and abuse-prevention purposes.
  • Billing and transaction records may be retained for tax, accounting, compliance, and legal purposes.

We may retain aggregated or de-identified information for longer periods.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No system, website, application, or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting your account access and for maintaining the security of any devices or third-party accounts you use with the Service.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • Access personal information we maintain about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete certain information.
  • Export or receive a copy of certain information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Opt out of certain communications.
  • Revoke connected-account access.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. Some information may be retained where permitted or required by law, including for security, compliance, fraud prevention, legal claims, accounting, or legitimate business purposes.

9. Email and Notification Preferences

We may send you Service-related messages, including account notices, security alerts, billing notices, subscription notices, policy updates, job alerts, digests, support messages, and administrative communications.

Notifications may be sent to your account email address or another email address you configure through the Service.

You may not be able to opt out of essential transactional or administrative messages while your account remains active.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may link to third-party websites and services, including employers, recruiters, applicant tracking systems, job boards, payment processors, identity providers, analytics tools, and other providers.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of third parties. You should review the privacy policies and terms of any third-party services you use.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@jobweb.io and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information where required.

12. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws of your jurisdiction.

13. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have additional rights regarding personal information.

We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. If we engage in activity that is considered a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws, we will provide any notices and choices required by law.

14. Google API and Connected Mailbox Data

If you choose to connect a Google account, including Gmail, our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with applicable Google API Services User Data Policy requirements, including any Limited Use requirements that apply.

We use connected-mailbox data to provide user-facing Service features such as identifying approved job-related messages, extracting job information, organizing opportunities, generating recommendations, and supporting alerts and summaries.

We do not sell Gmail data.

If you connect Microsoft, Outlook, or another supported mailbox, our access to information from that account depends on the permissions you authorize.

15. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” signals. There is no uniform industry standard for responding to these signals. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals unless required by law.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated Privacy Policy becomes effective when posted on the Service unless a later effective date is stated.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy. You should review this Privacy Policy periodically.
