This Privacy Policy explains how JobWeb.io (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you access or use JobWeb, located at https://jobweb.io, including the JobWeb job board, Fitcheck, alerts, recommendations, job-scoring tools, email-processing features, account features, and related websites, applications, products, and services (collectively, the “Service”). Fitcheck is part of JobWeb and is covered by this Privacy Policy.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that we collect and use information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, information from connected accounts, and information from third-party or public sources.
1.1 Account Information
When you create or use an account, we may collect:
- Name.
- Email address.
- Password or authentication credentials.
- Account settings.
- Subscription or plan information.
- Communications with us.
- Support requests.
- Preferences and saved searches.
1.2 Job Search and Fitcheck Information
When you use Fitcheck or related job-search features, we may collect:
- Job preferences.
- Preferred titles, roles, industries, companies, and locations.
- Remote, hybrid, or onsite preferences.
- Compensation preferences.
- Must-have, nice-to-have, and excluded criteria.
- Resume, profile, work history, skills, seniority, experience, or other career-related information you provide.
- Saved jobs, hidden jobs, dismissed jobs, applied jobs, notes, ratings, and feedback.
- Job-scoring results, recommendations, classifications, matches, and related system outputs.
1.3 Connected Account and Email Information
If you connect an email account or another third-party account, such as Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft, or another provider, we may collect and process information from that account based on the permissions you grant.
This may include:
- Email metadata, such as sender, recipient, date, subject, labels, and message identifiers.
- Email content, including message bodies and links, where permitted by the connection.
- Job listings, employer names, job titles, job descriptions, compensation information, locations, application links, and related content found in emails.
- Attachments, if authorized and necessary to provide the Service.
- Account connection tokens or authorization data necessary to access the connected account.
We use connected-account information to provide Service features such as job detection, extraction, deduplication, scoring, organization, alerts, and summaries.
You may revoke connected-account access through your JobWeb account settings, the third-party provider’s settings, or other available controls. Revoking access may limit or disable some Service features.
1.4 Job Listing, Employer, and Public Source Information
The Service may collect, receive, or derive information from public websites, employer career pages, applicant tracking systems, job boards, company websites, third-party data providers, and other publicly available or commercially available sources.
This may include:
- Job titles.
- Job descriptions.
- Employer names.
- Company information.
- Career page URLs.
- Application links.
- Applicant tracking system information.
- Locations.
- Compensation ranges.
- Employment types.
- Department or team information.
- Job posting dates.
- Public company logos, favicons, or brand identifiers.
1.5 Payment Information
If you purchase a paid plan or subscription, payment information may be collected and processed by our payment processor.
We may receive limited payment-related information, such as:
- Billing name.
- Billing email.
- Billing address.
- Subscription status.
- Plan type.
- Payment method type.
- Last four digits of a payment card.
- Transaction identifiers.
- Payment history.
We do not intentionally store full payment card numbers unless expressly stated.
1.6 Usage, Device, and Technical Information

- Send job alerts, digests, notifications, and administrative messages.
- Display job listings and employer information.
- Improve search, scoring, matching, recommendations, and extraction quality.
- Personalize the Service.
- Provide customer support.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Monitor performance, availability, and reliability.
- Debug errors and troubleshoot issues.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, scraping, unauthorized access, security incidents, and policy violations.
- Enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Protect the rights, safety, and security of JobWeb, users, employers, and third parties.
3. AI, Automation, and Model Processing
The Service may use automated systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, language models, classification systems, extraction tools, ranking systems, and related technologies to provide features such as Fitcheck, job summarization, scoring, recommendations, alerts, deduplication, and data extraction.
Information processed by these systems may include:
- Job descriptions.
- Job listings.
- Employer information.
- User preferences.
- Resume or profile information you provide.
- Connected-account content you authorize us to process.
- Usage signals and feedback.
We may use third-party AI, infrastructure, analytics, or cloud providers to process information on our behalf. These providers are authorized to process information only as needed to provide services to us, subject to contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards where applicable.
We may use de-identified, aggregated, or otherwise privacy-protective data to improve the Service, including extraction quality, scoring quality, recommendations, security, reliability, and product functionality.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information in the following circumstances.
4.1 Service Providers
We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Service, including providers of:
- Cloud hosting.
- Databases and infrastructure.
- Email delivery.
- Authentication.
- Payment processing.

- Logging and monitoring.
- Customer support.

- AI or machine-learning processing.
- Search, crawling, extraction, or enrichment services.
These providers may access information only as needed to perform services for us.
4.2 Third-Party Account Providers
If you connect a third-party account, we may exchange information with that provider as necessary to authenticate, authorize, maintain, or revoke the connection.
4.3 Employers, Recruiters, and Application Sites
If you choose to apply for a job, visit an employer site, click an application link, or otherwise interact with an external employer, recruiter, job board, or applicant tracking system, information may be provided directly by you to that third party.
We do not control how third parties collect, use, or disclose information once you leave the Service or interact with their systems.
Unless we expressly offer an application-submission feature, we do not submit applications, resumes, or personal information to employers on your behalf.
4.4 Business Transfers
We may disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction.
4.5 Legal, Safety, and Compliance
We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to:
- Comply with law, legal process, court orders, subpoenas, or government requests.
- Enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements.
- Detect, investigate, or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or technical issues.
- Protect the rights, property, safety, or security of JobWeb, users, employers, or others.
4.6 Aggregated or De-Identified Information
We may share aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you, including analytics, trends, product metrics, job market insights, or usage statistics.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in.
- Remember preferences.
- Improve site functionality.
- Measure usage and performance.
- Understand how users interact with the Service.
- Detect abuse and security issues.
- Support analytics and product improvement.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some Service functionality.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, operate our business, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the feature used, legal requirements, account settings, and operational needs.
Examples:
- Account information may be retained while your account is active.
- Job preferences and saved jobs may be retained until deleted by you or your account is deleted.
- Connected-account data may be retained as needed to provide connected-account features, unless deleted earlier or access is revoked.
- Logs and security records may be retained for operational, security, and abuse-prevention purposes.
- Payment and transaction records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, compliance, and legal purposes.
We may retain de-identified or aggregated information for longer periods.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
No system, website, application, or data transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for maintaining the security of any devices, email accounts, or third-party accounts you connect to the Service.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information we maintain about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete certain information.
- Export or receive a copy of certain information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.

9. Email and Notification Preferences
We may send you Service-related messages, including account notices, security alerts, billing notices, subscription notices, policy updates, job alerts, saved-search notifications, Fitcheck digests, and administrative communications.
You may unsubscribe from non-essential marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by adjusting available account settings.
You may not be able to opt out of essential transactional or administrative messages while your account remains active.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may link to third-party websites, employers, recruiters, applicant tracking systems, job boards, payment processors, identity providers, analytics tools, or other services.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of third parties. You should review the privacy policies and terms of any third-party services you use.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@jobweb.io and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information where required.
12. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws of your jurisdiction.
13. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, including California and other states with privacy laws, you may have additional rights regarding personal information.
These rights may include the right to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, or opt out of certain uses or disclosures of personal information.
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. If we engage in activity that is considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws, we will provide required notices and choices.

14. California Privacy Notice
If you are a California resident, California law may require us to provide additional information about the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use them, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose them.

Depending on your use of the Service, we may collect:

- Commercial information, such as subscription status, transaction history, saved jobs, and service usage.

- Professional or employment-related information, such as resumes, work history, skills, job preferences, saved jobs, and application-related information you provide.
- Inferences, such as job preferences, recommended jobs, Fitcheck scores, classifications, rankings, and related outputs.
- Sensitive personal information, if you choose to provide it or authorize us to process content that contains it.

- Connected accounts you authorize.

We collect and use personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Service, improving Fitcheck, processing job information, managing accounts, security, support, payments, analytics, compliance, and communications.

15. Sensitive Information
The Service is not designed to require sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, financial account credentials, health information, biometric information, precise geolocation, or protected demographic information.
However, resumes, job-search materials, emails, and connected-account content may contain sensitive information if you choose to provide or authorize access to it.
You should not provide sensitive information unless it is necessary for your use of the Service and you are comfortable with it being processed as described in this Privacy Policy.
16. Google API and Gmail Data
If you choose to connect a Google account, including Gmail, our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with applicable Google API Services User Data Policy requirements, including any Limited Use requirements that apply.
We use Gmail data only to provide or improve user-facing features of the Service, such as identifying job-related emails, extracting job listings, organizing opportunities, scoring jobs, generating alerts, and supporting user-requested workflows.
We do not use Gmail data for unrelated advertising purposes.
We do not sell Gmail data.
We do not allow humans to read Gmail data except where necessary for security purposes, to comply with law, to debug or support the Service with your permission, or where the data has been aggregated, anonymized, or otherwise de-identified.
17. Microsoft, Outlook, and Other Connected Accounts
If you connect Microsoft, Outlook, or another third-party account, our access to information from that account depends on the permissions you authorize.
We use connected-account data to provide user-facing Service features, such as job detection, extraction, organization, scoring, alerts, and summaries.
You can revoke third-party account access through your account settings or through the third-party provider’s account permissions page.
18. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” signals. There is no uniform industry standard for responding to these signals. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals unless required by law.
19. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated Privacy Policy on the Service or through other reasonable means. The updated Privacy Policy will become effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
